| Bird Sanctuary Quintana's Neotropical Bird Sanctuary opened in 1994 with the Town's purchase of a small tract of land across from the Town Hall and a grant through Partners in Flight. A popular birding spot with trails, ponds and park benches and the Alongis Tower. Through the Great Texas Birding Classic, a group sponsored by Dow Chemical, the sanctuary won second place and $15,000 to be used for land acquisition. Along with a matching grant and money from Migration Celebration, the park has more than doubled in size and continues to be a hot spot for migratory birds. |
